March 25th 2008 - As DOSS tries to keep pace with rising costs in trucking we are forced to have base rates increase 3.75% effective April 21st, 2008. Customers with specific discounts or contracts may not fall under this increase. November 1st, 2005 - Effective today we are launching our new rate system. In our goal to increase our service area Rich Doss, Inc. has installed a new mileage database for all tariffs. The database, PC Miler will allow DOSS to have more accurate miles as well as the ability to accurately rate all new out-of state lanes. PC Miler is based on actual zip codes and not general city center points and is effectively a shorter distance in most circumstances. Due to the shorter distances between points a 5% increase in rates is necessary to help compensate for the new mileage database. This may have affect previous quotes, if this happens please provide the quote number and we will be happy to change the new rate for you. July 29th, 2005 - Rich Doss, Inc. has evaluated ourFuel Surcharge schedule and found that it falls below recovery for our costs. Due to this reason we must immediately (effective August 1, 2005) revise our surcharge level to the one now posted on our web site. February 10th, 2005- Weighing of Shipments - Beginning the month of March 2005 Rich Doss, Inc. will begin to weigh a percentage of our shipments on certified scales. This will help us better maximize our trucks, ensure accurate billing, and provide better service to our customers. April 2, 2001 - DOSS will incorporate its current fuel surcharge into the general rates. Fuel prices have leveled off and show no signs of dropping below recent levels. Currently there will be no separate surcharge shown on the billing invoice. This rate change will not affect our contracted customers.
February 1, 2001 - DOSS do to a wealth of information and options available in the system, we have pushed the "Live" time for the new computer system to April 2, 2001. We believe that this will allow us to better analyze out current operations and streamline the implementation to alleviate any service problems during the transition.
January 15, 2001 - Rich Doss, Inc. begins development of a new computer system that will include full internet capabilities and scaling. September 11, 2000 - DOSS receives review of safety record for 1999 thru 2000 and is Nominated for Premier Carrier of California for the 9th straight year. Over the last year we ran approx. 5.6 million miles and only received 36 citations. This is an improvement by 8 citations over last years record setting total with and increase of 8 vehicles.
We are exceptionally proud of our maintenance and safety departments for keeping the trucks in tip top shape and educating the drivers and other employees constantly of changing laws conditions an unsafe maneuvers.
September 7, 2000 - Due to industry wide price increases in insurance and maintenance costs, DOSS will raise all non-contracted rates by 2% effective October 1st. This is only an increase to the general LTL rate and is not applicable to the Minimum Charges nor the Truckload Lumber. Also contracted customers are not affected.
